Student Activities:
1. TJCAA State Convention-held on the campus of a different agricultural university annually. Participation in:
• Quiz contests
o agronomy, animal science, horticulture, agricultural economics, wildlife management, entomology, equine science
 and agricultural mechanics

• Speaking Contest
• Chapter Public Relations Contest
• Job Interview Contest
• Outstanding Student competition - first, second, third place students receive scholarships based off available funds for that year.
• Outstanding Chapter Award competition
• Outstanding Scrapbook competition
• State Officer elections- President and officer team made up of participating convention schools
• Association with students from other community colleges and universities
• Opportunities to visit campuses of different universities
• Opportunities for advisement from universities’ instructors


Community College Benefits:
1. TJCAA members have the opportunity to:
• Promote leadership and fellowship among community college agricultural students
• Promote scholarship among community college agricultural students
• Promote competitive activities among community college agriculture clubs
• Encourage cooperative spirit among community college agricultural students


2. Agricultural Consortium of Texas membership
• TJCAA members have a voice in ACT proceedings. TJCAA has one vote.
• TJCAA participates in the initiation, support, coordination, and implementation of agricultural research and educational programs.
• TJCAA members are better able to cooperate with ACT member universities on such issues as transfer courses, possible
  scholarship opportunities, and joint student projects with the state wide university students’ organization.
• TJCAA members are encouraged to attend all ACT fall and spring general meetings.
